Policy for Young Children

Simmons Center encourages family use of the facility.  Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when visiting the Center unless the child is enrolled in a Simmons Center supervised program.  Simmons Center considers guardian age to be 16 years of age or older.  Children are the responsibility of the parent or guardian at all times.  Children 4 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times unless enrolled in a
supervised program or nursery.

Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the pool
area at all times.

Children’s Center

The Simmons Center provides child care for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years.  Children are accepted on a first-come basis and must check in at the recreation front desk prior to entering the Children’s Center.  Parents must remain in the facility at all times.  Limit of 35 children at one time, 10 children 6 months and under. 

Two hour time limit per visit.

Cost:  Free for members with Single Parent and Family memberships. (Children must be on the membership and have a Simmons Center membership card).

Non-member cost is $2.50 per hour and must be purchased at the front desk prior to entering the Children’s Center. 

Hours:  Mon-Fri   8 a.m.-Noon

             Mon-Fri   4 p.m.-8 p.m.

             Sat – 8:30 a.m. – Noon

*At the discretion of the lifeguard children 8 and older will be given a swim test, if the guard does not feel that the child can safely be in the pool area without a parent/guardian the guard will notify management and the parent/guardian will be contacted to come to the pool area to stay with their child.
